Three Irish firms in US export deals |

Irish firms which are backed by Enterprise Ireland have won €3m in new export deals in the US.
They were announced on a trade mission to the US being headed by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mary Coughlan this week.
Cubic Telecom, a Cork-based global mobile communications provider, is providing technology to Qik, a social networking and video blogging service.
Documatics, a Cork-based company which supplies document management technology, has also sealed a deal to provide its software to Boston-based GE Sensing. Documatics recently set up an office in Los Angeles to support its US expansion.
SensorPro, a Limerick-based company involved in web-based online survey tools, announced a partnership with StrongMail Systems.
Speaking in San Francisco, Minister Coughlan said:
“With a combined value of €3m these deals reflect the steady growth and success of Irish companies in the U.S. market especially coming on the back the recent trade mission to the East Coast of the US when the Taoiseach announced new sales for Enterprise Ireland client companies of over €100m”
“The diversity of Irish companies forging deals with U.S. partners and being recognised for their outstanding technology is highly impressive. From software services to semiconductors and alternative energy, Ireland continues to distinguish itself as a center of innovation excellence."
“I’m delighted to acknowledge the efforts of these companies and their teams. They are tremendous ambassadors of Irish business and I congratulate them on striking these lucrative deals in the U.S. market.”
In separate news, Enterprise Ireland also announced that seven portfolio companies have been short listed for the Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG) Silicon Valley Awards. The winner will be announced this evening at an event to be held at Stanford University and featuring a keynote address by An Tánaiste. Established in 2007, the Silicon Valley-based ITLG is comprised of senior Irish and Irish-American executives dedicated to supporting the growth of Ireland-based technology companies.
Irish companies short listed for the ITLG Award include:
- Ammado, a social network for charities.
- CustomerMinds, a provider of online marketing management tools.
- Firecomms, a provider of components for high-speed home network and in-car entertainment systems.
- Lincor Solutions, a provider of bedside information and entertainment systems for hospitals.
- Open Hydro, a provider of marine turbines to generate energy from tides.
- Powervation, a provider of digital power control integrated circuits.
- Wavebob, a provider of technology to convert ocean energy into electricity.
