Ireland's Documatics Expands U.S. Market Presence and Charts New Customer Successes

SAN JOSE, Calif. and CORK, Ireland, Mar. 15, 2010—Documatics, a provider of business management process software to multiple industry sectors, today announced that it is expanding its U.S. market presence by establishing a new operations center in Chicago, IL. Also today, the company announced that Chicago-based Soluisce Solutions Inc., a provider of enterprise software solutions, will use the Documatics product suite to offer Enterprise Content Management solutions to its customers throughout the U.S.

The announcement was made today during a Trade and Investment Mission to Silicon Valley led by Ireland’s Prime Minister, Brian Cowen. The Mission was organized by Enterprise Ireland, the state agency responsible for the development and promotion of Ireland’s indigenous business sector.

Three Irish firms in US export deals

Irish firms which are backed by Enterprise Ireland have won €3m in new export deals in the US. They were announced on a trade mission to the US being headed by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mary Coughlan this week. Cubic Telecom, a Cork-based global mobile communications provider, is providing technology to Qik, a social networking and video blogging service. Documatics, a Cork-based company which supplies document management technology, has also sealed a deal to provide its software to Boston-based GE Sensing. Documatics recently set up an office in Los Angeles to support its US expansion. SensorPro, a Limerick-based company involved in web-based online survey tools, announced a partnership with StrongMail Systems.

Cork-based company Documatics is aiming to change the image of lawyers and solicitors with a case-management software solution called Legal Evolve™. Traditionally, lawyers have been seen on TV lugging heavy files or at desks snowed under by paperwork but Documatics founder and managing director David Boland says this doesn’t work in the 21st century. “Stacks of paperwork on a desk used to be a sign of work in progress; now it just shows inefficiency.”

Cork-based Documatics, which services clients in online documents and online correspondence management, proves that there is life after redundancy. Former Motorola employee David Boland established Documatics after he attended an Enterprise Ireland start-up programme after the plant closed in Cork last year. In early 2007, the company began the process of identifying potential markets for their services, at home and abroad, with the help of Enterprise Ireland.
